5 Things I enjoyed this Month I November's Picks
My favorite platform, app, Tv-series, video ,and quote of the month.
Hey, y’all!
I hope you all are doing well. November has been an insanely intensive month for me, packed with lots of school exams, and I’ve been overloaded with online coaching. On top of that, November was when the world cup was kicking off. By the way, it's been a fascinating world cup.
To be honest, my physical health wasn’t the best the previous month as I always came up with excuses not to cook my healthy meals or to make time to exercise. But looking at the bright side, the Christmas holiday is around the corner and we get back on the right track again.
In November’s picks, I am going to share with you an educational platform, an inspiring tv- series, a valuable video, the quote of the month, and my favorite picture this month.
Platform I TED-Ed
For those who don’t know what TED is, it is a nonprofit and well-known platform that shares a wide variety of high-quality talks and worth-sharing ideas by people from all over the world. You must have come across any of their videos on youtube before.
This month I have been consuming the TED-Ed version, which is more specified for youth and students and mostly directed for educational purposes. It is TED’s youth and education initiative with the mission to spark and celebrate the ideas of teachers and students around the world.
Here’s an introductory video if you’re interested in learning more in-depth about the community as a whole.
🎥 TV series I The Good Doctor
It was recommended to me by a friend to watch The Good Doctor, which is an American series that talks about a young autistic surgeon who has savant syndrome and is brutally honest, which does get him into trouble many times. His savant syndrome does not stop him though from pursuing his incredible passion for surgery.
The interesting thing about The Good Doctor is that it combines the balance between the compelling medical aspects and the heartful human ones, which hooks the audience’s interest. I would highly recommend it to everyone and especially those of you who are or will be somehow related to medicine and medical surgeries.
App I Anki
Anki is a flash-card program that helps you memorize things more efficiently and remember things much easier. You start by creating your own study sets with terms, definitions, and examples and these apps will help you practice these terms and definitions or whatever you are learning. Moreover, it is content-agnostics where you can put any videos, images or audio of the things you’re learning.
The thing I love the most about Anki is that it helps you apply the spaced repetition technique as Anki’s spaced repetition algorithm takes into account how difficult you find something and then lets you advance from there.
Video I How to Build the Ultimate Productivity System
I’ve been always fascinated by building a productivity system that works as my second brain so that I can free up valuable brain space. Ali Abdaal shares in this video his productivity system, which a huge part of it is quite similar to the system I am currently living on although I have captured more ideas and inspirations from his video, and I would highly recommend you get yourself at least a part of this productivity system and create your own.
✌ Quote of The Month ✌
School is one thing. Education is another. The two don’t always overlap. Whether you’re in school or not, it’s always your job to get yourself an education.
