Stuff I Enjoyed This Month I August's Picks
My favorite platform, podcast, tweet thread, quote, and tech gear this month.
Hi friends,
As you all know, we’re back in the world of schooling and working. I hope you all are having good days with the start of this new adventure of learning, improving, fun and education. Let’s make this year the best year ever. Good luck!
Alright, I did not forget that I promised in July Picks to release my big announcement this month, but unfortunately, the announcement has to wait for the upcoming month, hopefully.
With that being said, I gladly want to share that I have started a new role at Allakando as a Study Coach/Mentor where I help younger students achieve their desired personal and academic goals along with providing them with guidance, motivation, self-confidence, and emotional support. Honestly, teaching other students forward and watching them develop is truly a fabulous experience and I’m so happy with this role so far.
Without further ado, let’s dig into this month’s picks. In August picks, I share with you a design platform, an insightful podcast, a life-changing tweet thread, an amazing tech gear, and lastly the best quote I came across this month. ENJOY!
💻 Platform I Canva
Canva is simply an easy and straightforward graphic design platform where you can create social media graphics, thumbnails, school/work presentations, posters, and much other visual content. What makes the whole process of graphic design easy on Canva is that you can find lots of templates to choose from and use in your own creation.
On top of that, Canva is out of any charges for 99% of the work you create there. However, there is a paid subscription to get access to all the features available, but I didn’t honestly find myself wanting any of the paid features as the free features are more than enough. So, I highly recommend you give Canva a shot.

🎧 Podcast I E360 from On Purpose By Jay Shetty
Episode Title: 3 Money Myths That Are Making You Poorer Every Day & How to Survive and Thrive in a Recession
In this podcast, Jay Shetty interviews Jaspreet Singh, who is a serial entrepreneur, Chief Executive, and licensed attorney. They discuss financial education and smart investments.
I used not to be too obsessed with learning about finance, but after listening to this podcast I was convinced why learning about finance is an important skill that we need to acquire in order for us to grow our mental wealth while also growing our financial wealth. I really enjoyed their talk and highly recommend you check it out, especially if you’re someone like me who is not into finance that much.
🕊️ Tweet Thread
I have shared this Tweet Thread with you before, but I found myself over and over again going back to this amazing Tweet Thread by Naval Ravikant and picking out some of the best financial advice and mindset shifts out there. So I couldn’t resist sharing it again

📱 Tech I Ulanzi MT-11 Octopus Tripod
I bought this amazing mini tripod from Ulanzi about a week ago, and since then I’m just amazed about how this little tripod can hold up to 2kg of heavy cameras and gears. This thing is really strong and flexible and its wrappable legs made it much easier to secure professional camera equipment or my phone to virtually any surface so that I can get the exact shot I want pretty easily. Such a game-changer really.
✌ Quote of The Month ✌
Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.
