Stuff I Enjoyed This Month I June's Picks
My favorite app, audiobook, video, tech, and quote in June.
Hi, friends
I hope you are having an enjoyable and productive summer holiday. You all have been working really hard, so you deserve it!
Unlike May, June has been a more relaxed and less stressful month. In June picks, I share with you a productive app, an engaging audiobook, a unique video, a life-changing piece of tech, and my favorite quote of this month.
💻 App I Focus To-Do
Focus to-do is a basic and simple app and all it does is just one job, but this app does this job really well. Focus To-Do is an app that organizes your studying and working sessions based on The Pomodoro Technique, which is one of the most powerful short-term productivity techniques as it externalizes the self-discipline that you need to keep working, but it also re-frames your task from output-based to input-based. Focus To-Do forces you to study when you set a timer, and it locks your phone, so you’re not tempted to get distracted during your studying sessions.
🎧 Audiobook
_ The Hard Thing About Hard Things by Ben Horowitz
This audiobook is basically about the author’s life journey as a high-level tech CEO. I found the audiobook to be really engaging, with good narration. I have taken out lots of lessons about running a business, particularly the emotional side of it, so highly recommend it.
🎬 Video
_ How to Organise your life - Building a Second Brain By Ali Abdaal
One of the most annoying problems we face in our lives is information overwhelm. We consume a lot of information, read many books, listen to podcasts, and watch YouTube videos, but we don't feel like we’re taking anything away from what we're consuming. Therefore, I highly recommend watching this video by Ali Abdaal where he goes through the concept of the second brain and shares strategies and technics for how we can organize our consumed information so that we can remember them for a longer period of time.
📱 Tech I iPhone 13 Pro Max
I have been using android phones for basically all my life and my thinking about iPhone phones was that they are limiting, hard to use, and you pay a lot more for what you get. But after switching to iPhone, I can tell that I was too wrong.
It was mind-blowing when I did a side-by-side comparison of the iPhone with some dedicated film cameras like the Canon M50 ($500)… and holy crap the iPhone 13 Pro max back cameras are amazing. Tbh it’d be possible to film a high-quality YouTube channel on your iPhone without anyone ever noticing.
✌ Quote of The Month ✌
"Once you have learned to ask questions – relevant and appropriate and substantial questions – you have learned how to learn and no one can keep you from learning whatever you want or need to know."
